Every second Saturday in August it is traditionally time for the summer flower parade in the Bulb Region: The Flower Parade Rijnsburg. This beautiful flower festival can be viewed in the seaside resorts of Katwijk and Noordwijk, among others. This Flower Parade is also the first event of the Dahlia Festival Bollenstreek. The Flower Parade Rijnsburg takes place every year on the 2nd Saturday in August and consists of 10 floats, music floats, passenger cars decorated with flowers and music bands. In addition, the themes on the floats are supported and depicted by more than 100 extras. This special flower parade attracts more than 350,000 visitors every year. This event is also successfully broadcast annually on national TV (broadcaster MAX). Flower Parade Rijnsburg distinguishes itself from other flower parades by using hundreds of types of flowers that are processed by professional arrangers. The first flower parade in Rijnsburg took place in 1946. This makes the parade one of the oldest in the Netherlands. The theme of the summer Flower Parade is not yet known.
