Nieuw Houtfestival-project:

Class 3 of the Mgr. Huibersschool is visiting Theater Elswout, which is enveloped in beautiful autumn colors. The 20 students can all sit at the front, making it a beautiful, intimate performance. Mr. Anansi invites the children into the story. The children quickly get into it, on the edge of their couch, sympathize, clap, sing, shout and sometimes even fall off their couch laughing!  With a lot of facial expressions, voice changes and some attributes that Mr. Anansi uses, the children effortlessly recognize the different characters in this very visually told story. The humor is beautifully layered, making both young children and adults laugh loudly. This is children's theater at its best, with a nice dynamic between Wijnand and the children, in which they 'engage', use their 'fantasy factory' well and enjoy intensely. The deeper message that those who are not strong must be smart, or be like Anansi the spider, has been well received. Petra Korevaar/ Volunteer Heart. Warm regards from the Anansi family Did you know that THEATER ELSWOUT was created entirely without structural subsidies, government support, donations from Russia or the help of some Oil Sheikh. We run CROWD on tickets you buy and the support of volunteers. A powerful independent initiative that shows what is possible with vision, perseverance and a deep love for theater and stories. You can of course become a donor yourself and help ensure that children can continue to listen to the most wonderful stories. Or deposit your contribution directly to: NL08 ASNB 0942 4362 37 in the name of theater Elswout.
