The Snowman & Flight to the North Pole - by The James Whale Orchestra | Familieconcert

The Snowman & Flight to the North Pole is a live-to-screen Christmas concert specially developed for the whole family. Two animated films without spoken text are accompanied live by the James Whale Orchestra. Image and music together tell the story. The Snowman The British animated film The Snowman, based on the book of the same name, is the ultimate Christmas classic for young children. The moving story about the friendship between a boy and a snowman is accompanied by the iconic music of Howard Blake, which is performed live in its entirety. In the United Kingdom, The Snowman has been part of the regular Christmas repertoire on television, in book form and in the theater for decades. This live-to-screen performance is being presented for the first time in the Netherlands. Few works are as inextricably linked to Christmas as The Snowman. Flight to the North PoleFlight to the North Pole follows a snowy owl on its journey through the far north towards the North Pole. Along the way he meets Arctic animals, braves the vast landscape and discovers the beauty of winter nature full of snow, ice and the Northern Lights. The music was specially composed by Oliver Parr (musical director of the James Whale Orchestra) and is an essential part of the story. The film has no spoken text and immediately appeals to the imagination of young viewers and their parents.
