January 16, 2027 – 1:00 PM – 4:30 PM The third Saturday of January we celebrate National Tulip Day with a mega tulip picking garden on Museumplein in Amsterdam. There will also be a theme again in 2027. National Tulip Day marks the start of the (cut) tulip season. Come to Amsterdam and pick your own bunch of tulips. A unique experience for young and old. The tulip picking garden opens to the public at 1 p.m., when you can pick your own bunch of tulips (10 tulips). The garden closes when the tulips are gone. Don't wait too long, join the queue. At the entrance to the tulip picking garden you will receive a biodegradable tulip bag, which fits exactly 10 tulips. It is not allowed to bring your own shopping bag. Don't forget to take pictures. Tulips always look good in photos =) You do not have to pay entrance fee for the tulip picking garden on National Tulip Day. So enjoy a free bunch of fresh tulips. The tulip picking garden is extremely popular; so make sure you join on time. The average waiting time is 30-60 minutes. While you wait, the organization provides a pleasant atmosphere with music.
